Capsicums or bell peppers is a vegetable which adds special tanginess to any meal. This is a maharashtrian dish. Addition of besan flour to capsicum gives it a rustic flavour.
I made this capsicum jhunka for our lunch yesterday. It can be had with rotis or rice . This is our family favourite.
Ingredients :
1/4 kg ...................capsicums cut into cubes
2 ............................onions chopped
1 tsp......................mustard seeds
1 tsp.....................turmeric pd
1 tsp.........................chilly pd
4 to 5 tbsp ...................besan
salt
oil
Method :
Heat oil , temper with mustard seeds.
Add onions and saute till transparent.
Add the cubed capsicums and cook for 5 minutes taking care not to cook them completely.
Add salt, chilly pd, turmeric pd and sprinkle dry besan.
Sprinkle some water and stir .
Cover with lid and cook for another 5 minutes so that the rawness of besan goes away.
