Potatoes are used in many many dishes and there is no end to what all you can do with this humble stem vegetable. This simple potato bhaji can be done in just 10 minutes and goes well with puri, roti or rice.
We had it with puri and green chutney .
On a day when you are feeling lazy this dish is a blessing ...
Ingredients :
4 to 5 .....................potatoes peeled and cubed
1tsp.........................cumin seeds (jeera )
1tsp ..........................fenugreek seeds ( methi )
1/2 tsp.........................asefoetida (hing powder)
1/2 tsp.........................turmeric powder (haldi)
2 to 3 sprigs ...................curry leaves chopped
2 to 3 ........................green chillies slit in two
1 tbsp ......................oil
1 tsp ........................sugar
salt
Method :
Heat oil in a pan.
Add mustard , when they splutter add methi.
Add chopped curry leaves and chillies.
Lower the flame and add hing and haldi.
Add potato cubes, salt , sugar and cook till done.
