Mix Daal Paniyarams ( Erappe )

I always rank South Indian breakfast variety on the top list among all others. They are nutritious, healthy and almost have no oil at all. Idlies , dosas, idiyappams and these paniyarams. They keep us full for a long time and are not too heavy to digest.

 Today I am posting this Mix Daal Paniyarams  for  Tamizhar Samayal.  started by  nalini . I just love these soft paniyarams made of various daals. You can omit or add any daal as per your choice. Just don't skip the urad daal.


Ingredients :

1 cup ...................urad daal
1/2 cup.................Tuvar daal
1/2 cup................moong daal
1/2 cup................masur daal
1/2 cup...............chana daal
salt







Method :

Soak all the daals together for 4 to 5 hours.

Drain the water and grind them to a smooth paste .

Keep the batter thick as to the consistency of idli batter.

Heat the erappe making tawa and smear it with little oil.

Pour the batter with a spoon till half the depression is full as it will rise when it is cooked.

After 2 to 3 minutes turn them over and cook on the other side too.

Serve with chutney of your choice.
